Notice of Online Portal Outage

On Friday 18th May, the Department's online portal will be unavailable due to planned maintenance.

Department Amalgamation

On 1 July 2017, the Department of Racing, Gaming and Liquor amalgamated with the Departments of Sport and Recreation, Culture and the Arts, and Local Government and Communities to form the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries. During the transition phase the Department will continue to operate as usual and you can access our services and information through the existing website –

The Department of Racing, Gaming and Liquor is responsible for regulating and maintaining the integrity of lawful racing, gambling and liquor activities for Western Australians to participate in.

More applications go online

People applying for one-off Extended Trading Permits and Addition/Variation approval can now do so online.

RSA Training for Crowd Controllers

From 1 July 2018 all licensed crowd controllers working on licensed premises will be required to have Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) training. The RSA course can be completed online and a list of registered training organisations is available online.

For further information, please view the Director’s Policy on Mandatory Training. The current RSA course code is SITHFAB002, however if you have competed an RSA course previously, page three of the policy lists the old RSA courses that are still considered acceptable by the licensing authority.

Licensees will need to ensure that this information is incorporated into the training register for your premises.
