Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS):
Members of the public for whom English is a second language or don’t speak English can call the Translating and Interpreting Service on 131 450 and ask for the Department of Racing, Gaming and Liquor. Apart from the cost of a local call this is a free service to members of the public as the Department will pay the costs of the service provided by TIS.
Aboriginal language services:
Members of the public that require an Indigenous interpreter or translator to communicate with the Department can ask the Department to arrange for an appropriate interpreter/translator to be provided. The Department uses the services of regional Aboriginal language centres and the Kimberley Interpreting Service. The Department will pay the costs of the interpreting/translating service.
Deaf and hearing impaired services:
Members of the public that are deaf or have a hearing or speech impairment can contact the National Relay Service (NRS) on 133 677 and ask to be connected to the Department (you must give the NRS the telephone number you wish to be connected to). Apart from the cost of a local call this is a free service.
